Leaderboard Ads Showing on Mobile

I just noticed that the leaderboard size ads are still showing on the responsive pages.

We Noticed Too

Thanks for the heads up. We noticed that too. Since we changed to a responsive theme, we now have to change all of our in-house ads so they are responsive as well.

Since we are going to be moving to a new server, we have to decide what we are going to do with our current OpenX ad server. Right now we are looking at possibly upgrading to the Revive ad server, or whether we should switch to something like DoubleClick for Publishers - Small Business.

Once we decide which direction we are going, and setup the new ad server, we will replace all of the ad units so they are responsive.

Haven't Decided Yet

We haven't really decided yet.

Google's DoubleClick promises more revenue possibilities, by tying us into additional ad networks. It also has a lot of features, such as being able to optimize your ads based on expected revenue (i.e. based on our portion of the average CPM of a particular ad). The downside is that it is much more complicated to configure and use.

The Revive ad server, in contrast, is a bit more straighforward and is the continuation of the OpenX server, which we are already used to. We already have a lot of in-house ads setup in our OpenX ad server, which we could import into Revive. There are also some opportunities for integrating the Revive ad server with other projects, making it easier for people to but ads directly from us.

It's something we have to think about a bit after we do some more research.

Mixed

Right now we are using Google Adsense for places we need responsive ad units, and using DoubleClick for the remaining display ads. Our OpenX server is still serving the Sponsored Link in the sidebar though. Recommended Content will be served by our soon to be launched Digital Authorship related content service.
