Up Your Game

I see a lot of compeition, which requires you to up your game. It is no longer sufficient to put out a poorly designed website and get orders simply because everyone else in your niche has poor websites. Now, there is a lot more competition, with some impressive websites.

If you want to compete today, you need to have an attractive and converting website, and have some unique selling proposition (USP) to stand out. Otherwise it just becomes a price war and a battle to the bottom.

There is huge competition

There is huge competition nowadays for sure. People even employ professional web designers to create their webpage, making it look good and also to ensure their chance to make sales. Competing has become really hard nowadays, in my opinion.

I agree with those talking

I agree with those talking about a rise in competition.

Even selling on Ebay and Amazon has become a whole new ballgame, having to really put effort into the way you list, how many reviews you have, and so on. I just sell on ebay now and again, I left ecommerce behind a few years ago as my living as I felt I was on a treadmill ... constantly.

Targeted Niches

The market has been over saturated for a while now in most niches. You have to really dial into smaller targeted niches to really make a go at it. There will always be competition, but it is trying to get it to the smallest possible group. Now it's all about marketing and knowing how to use social media to its full advantage.

It's Going To Be A Good Year

To add to that, I think this year is going to be a good year for e-commerce since every year more and more people embrace the online shopping experience. It is more secure than it was say ten years ago, and that makes people more comfortable.
