I heard that Amazon has a pretty good affiliate program, but can anyone say if it is or not? I mean I think that it would be something that would good for me to use, but I just don't know if it's worth it or not.

Works with a Targeted Audience

In my experience, Amazon and other affiliate programs are only effective to promote if you have targeted traffic and targeted offers.

For example, if you have a website about Caribbean Recipes, and then advertise Caribbean food products on that website, you will gets some orders.

But if you try to just advertise everything Amazon offers without having related content and a related audience, you won't see many sales.

The best if you're dedicated

I've had a niche amazon affiliate site that promoted photography equipment to targeted and organic traffix from SEO. You need a good niche, be good at SEO or pay for good services, high traffic - low competition keywords, great content and patience. It takes work but can be very rewarding if done right. I only made it to about $100/month but it was my first affiliate success so I was satisfied with it. But since it is profitable and Amazon is such a trusted beast of a site, it is also high competition.
