How to Setup Email Archiving in cPanel

The email archiving feature allows users to save incoming, outgoing or mailing list messages for a specified amount of time.

Some web hosts may have this disabled. Contact your web host if you need this feature.

Step by Step Directions

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Click the Email Archiving Icon in the Mail section.
  3. Choose which messages to archive by clicking the appropriate boxes.
    • Incoming
    • Mailing List
    • Outgoing
  4. Then select how long to keep the messages using the drop down box that appears.
  5. When ready, click the Apply to All My Domains button.

Emails will now be archived, and you can download them at any time.

Warning: Archiving emails can consume a lot of disk space quickly.  Make sure you have enough disk space available for the retention period you are choosing.
